A Sense of Place by purplerose A Sense of Place by purplerose
Photomontage for my Digital Craft Course. The guidelines were to create a sense of place about where you live. I'm from Atlanta, GA, USA. :)

Excerpt from my artist statement:

"The viewer is transported to the outskirts of the city into one of its surrounding neighborhoods. The neighborhood is empty, desolate and full of foreclosed houses and crows. The viewer is left to wonder what awaits the lone traveler on the cracked road. Will something breathe life into this neighborhood, or is it doomed to waste away and be reclaimed by nature?"

I really like this photograph. It is very pleasing to my eyes. Highlights are not blown out and shadows aren't black in here. VERY nice exposure. I also like the soft colors used in here, nothing is over saturated which makes it perfect for your description. :) I like the person walking as well down the cracked road. Very lovely composition. I'd say another job well done!

I know Atlanta is an urban center, but all the residential areas around it look rural to me :P I'm used to Tall, two-three-four family houses side by side, street after street. lol
